415 SF Official Star Smog Check Station

If you have a brand-new car that is a guaranteed, easy pass, this shop is fine. However, if you own an older, classic, or temperamental vehicle that requires actual mechanical finesse, look elsewhere. My previous technician understood that older cars need to be run hot and pre-tested to pass successfully. When I questioned this tech about how temperamental older cars can be, he dismissed it, bragging that his "experience" meant he would be done in 15 minutes. Instead of taking the proper care, he rushed the process without asking questions, and lo and behold, the car failed. His experience seems limited strictly to easy, modern cars. He completely lacks the knack, patience, and finesse required to handle a borderline, older vehicle. Save yourself a failed mark on your state record and take your older cars to a technician who actually understands them.

My car didn't pass the first time but the guy was willing to work with me to make it as easy as possible to come back to get it smogged until it passed. I called around and this is one of the best shops for pre-1996 cars. He knows what he's doing with older cars. Although it was challenging to get my car passed, it was a good experience overall.

I have always gone to 415 Smog Check Station every time i've needed a certification for either of my cars. Numan is very prompt, friendly and super efficient. certification was done in under 25 minutes, completely hassle free. And best of all, Numan found me a voucher and applied the discount without me even asking. Highly recommended.
